Deborah Peyton

I heard the call of West African drumming 13 years ago, after retiring as an Army Officer and spending years in corporate executive sales and business development consulting.  From that point on, my life has been transformed by the hand drumming instrument called “the Djembe”, and West African music!

My experience with this powerful instrument along with the connectivity created by group music making and drumming, inspire my love and passion for drumming and facilitating. Now, I perform with local groups and bands, facilitate customized programs, and drum at community drum circles all over the country.

My mission for Austin Rhythm & Drum is to serve the community by sharing and creating welcoming, uplifting, connecting, and inspiring rhythm and drum programs and events. My wish is that each individual and group will have their own transformative experience!

I have delivered program to companies and organizations both nationally and internationally, including Tiffany’s, Hologic, Texas Health & Human Services, Lake Austin Spa & Resort, The Four Seasons Hotel, and many more. I hope your organization is next!
